Adidas Stan Smith shoe was initially introduced in 1965 it was the only leather tennis shoe. Originally patronized by Robert Haillet in the 60s the shoe was renamed after the American tennis star Stan Smith in 1971. Weighing 12.8 oz the shoe has a full grain leather upper with no external stripes. Instead, there are perforations in three rows akin to the stripes. This increases ventilation and breath ability. Other features include collar with non slip lining, traditional lacing and nylex sock lining. Peculiar to Stan Smith model is a cup sole made of rubber and oval court sole design for maximum grip.
